In the summer of 2016 I was able to perform with my high school Orchestra at Disneyland. We had the chance to play a concert and do a workshop. I have many happy memories of going there with my grandparents and family members.
Even though this was my ninth trip, Disneyland still has not lost any of the magic because the life lessons taught in Disney movies such as friendship and never giving up are timeless, and can even be felt in the park.
Disneyland is known as the “Happiest Place on Earth”, little do most people know that this wasn’t always the case. July 17, 1955 is marked as Disneyland’s opening day, but later became known as “Black Sunday” because of broken rides, sweltering heat, counterfeit tickets, long lines, and lack of concessions.
Disneyland seemed like a failed dream, nevertheless, Walt never gave up and kept going. Now many years later Disneyland is still making dreams come true by making memories for families that last a life time.
“We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths,” said Walt Disney.
