Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast, the one of the most classic love stories is to be released to theaters on March 17. The US Final Official Trailer for the live action, Beauty and the Beast came out during The Bachelor on ABC in January, starting the countdown till it is released.

The original animated Beauty and the Beast came out 1991, 25 years ago. It was nominated for 6 academy awards so this remake has high expectations.

The cast includes many familiar faces to the movie world:

Emma Watson, who played Hermione Granger in Harry Potter, as Belle. Dan Stevens, who was in Downtown Alley, as the Beast. Luke Evans, who was in the Hobbit, as Gaston, the egocentric man who tries to woo Belle. Josh Gad, who played Olaf in Frozen, as Lefou, Gaston’s misunderstood sidekick. Oscar nominee Ian McKellen, who played Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings, as Cogsworth, the mantel clock.

There are also many award winners; Oscar® winner Kevin Kline as Maurice, Golden Globe® nominee Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, the candelabra; Oscar nominee Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; six-time Tony Award® winner Audra McDonald as Madame Garderobe, the wardrobe; and two-time Academy Award® winner Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts.

Alan Menken, who wrote the music for the 1991 version, wrote the music for this movie. Some of the singers are also familiar. Ariana Grande and John Legend are the singers for the classic credit ‘Beauty and the Beast’ duet. Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson sang this duet in 1991. Celine Dion is going to make a reappearance in the soundtrack. She will be singing, ‘How Does A Moment Last Forever’. The movie will also feature three new songs in this ‘Tale that is Old as Time’.
